India thrash Sri Lanka to win Asia Cup title
DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka, June 24, 2010 (AFP) - India's pace battery led by Ashish Nehra demolished Sri Lanka to help their team win the Asia Cup with a comfortable 81-run win on Thursday.
Dinesh Karthik top-scored with 66 as India made 268-6 after electing to bat in the day-night final, before the defending champions and hosts were shot out for 187.
India, who last won the region's premier one-day prize in 1994, denied Sri Lanka a hat-trick of titles following their victories in 2004 and 2008.
Nehra claimed four wickets, including two in one over, as Sri Lanka were reduced to 51-5 by the 16th over before being bundled out in the 45th over.
India never looked back after hard-hitting opener Tillakaratne Dilshan was dismissed off the fifth delivery, holing out to mid-on off seamer Praveen Kumar.
Kumar, who made use of windy conditions to swing the ball, bowled an unchanged opening spell of nine overs in which he conceded just 29 runs.
Fellow seamer Zaheer Khan bowled Upul Tharanga, before Nehra wrecked havoc by having Mahela Jayawardene and Angelo Mathews caught behind in the 14th over.
Nehra also removed Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara for 17, but Thilina Kandamby (31) and Chamara Kapugedara (55 not out) delayed the end.
Nehra's 4-40 was supported by Zaheer's 2-36 and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja's 2-29.
Karthik, who replaced the injured Virender Sehwag, hit nine boundaries to lead India's batting at the Rangiri stadium in Dambulla.
Karthik put on 62 for the second wicket with Virat Kohli (28) and 46 for the third with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (38).
Rohit Sharma propped up with the middle-order with a fluent 41, before Jadeja boosted the score with an unbeaten 25.
Kandamby, who had failed to take a wicket with his leg-spin in 32 previous one-dayers, stunned India's top order with the dismissals of Karthik and Dhoni.
Sling-arm fast bowler Lasith Malinga finished with 2-57, while Nuwan Kulasekara claimed 1-44.

NEW YORK: Britney Spears has become just the second artist in the 52-year history of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart to debut multiple songs at No. 1, as "Hold It Against Me" took the top spot in its first week.
Spears previously came in at No. 1 with "3" in 2009. The only other act with multiple No. 1 starts is Mariah Carey with "Fantasy" and "One Sweet Day" in 1995 and "Honey" in 1997.
"Hold It Against Me" is Spears' fourth No. 1 on the Hot 100. Prior to "3," she reigned with her debut single "...Baby One More Time" (1999) and "Womanizer" (2008). The new track sold 411,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It marks the highest first-week tally for a lead female artist, besting the 325,000 downloads sold by Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale" in February 2010.
Two other tracks stormed the upper reaches of the Hot 100. "What the Hell," the first single from Avril Lavigne's fourth album, "Goodbye Lullaby," due March 8, opened at No. 13.
At No. 23, Kanye West and Jay-Z debuted with "H*A*M.," the first single from the superstar pair's upcoming collaborative album, "Watch the Throne."
Directly below "Hold It Against Me," three titles dipped one notch each: Bruno Mars' "Grenade" (No. 2), Katy Perry's "Firework" (No. 3) and Rihanna's "What's My Name?" (No. 4).
Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" rose two to No. 5; Enrique Iglesias' "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" held at No. 6; and Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" fell three to No. 7.

Protests continue as Egypt PM tasked with reforms
CAIRO: Egypt's embattled President Hosni Mubarak tasked his new prime minister on Sunday to ram through democratic reforms as thousands of protesters in central Cairo defied a military curfew to demand the veteran leader's ouster.
His instructions to Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq were read out on state television but had no discernable effect on protesters who vowed to continue their demonstrations until Mubarak stepped down.
Mubarak, who sacked his cabinet on Friday after a nationwide revolt, also said the new prime minister's priority was restricting unemployment and creating new jobs.
"Above all that, and concurrent with it, I emphasise the importance of urgently, completely, effectively taking new and continuous steps for more political reforms, constitutional and legislative, through dialogue with all parties," Mubarak told Shafiq.
He also instructed the new cabinet, whose members have not yet been named, to restrict unemployment, end corruption and restore trust in the country's economy.
Thousands of protesters stayed put in Tahrir Square, the epicentre of demonstrations in the capital, with some setting up tents to stay overnight despite a military curfew.
Top dissident Mohamed ElBaradei earlier told a sea of angry protesters in the square that they were beginning a new era after the six day revolt.
The Nobel laureate, who was mandated by Egyptian opposition groups including the banned Muslim Brotherhood to negotiate with Mubarak's regime, hailed "a new Egypt in which every Egyptian lives in freedom and dignity."
"We are on the right path, our strength is in our numbers," ElBaradei said in his first address on Tahrir square. "I ask you to be patient, change is coming."
"We will sacrifice our soul and our blood for the nation," the angry crowd shouted. "The people want to topple the president."
Brotherhood leaders Essam el-Erian and Saad el-Katatni, who walked out of prison earlier on Sunday after their guards fled, also addressed the crowd.
"They tried every way to stop the revolution of the people but we will be steadfast regardless of how many martyrs fall," Erian said.
The protests against Mubarak's three-decade rule have shaken Egypt and left at least 125 people dead as the veteran leader clings to power.
A curfew slapped on Cairo, Alexandria and Suez on Friday was further extended on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 am, state television said, leaving citizens only seven hours a day to take to the street.
Mubarak has struggled to placate a nation angry at his three decades of autocratic rule with token gestures such as sacking the government.
Parliament speaker Fathi Surur on Sunday made another concession, saying the results of last year's fraud-tainted parliamentary elections would be revised.
Several foreign governments said they would evacuate their nationals, while the United States authorised the departure of embassy families.
Mubarak on Sunday met with army brass seen as holding the key to his future as warplanes roared low over the downtown Cairo protest in an apparent show of force.
State television said he visited central military command where he met his newly appointed vice president, Omar Suleiman, the intelligence chief.
Mubarak, a former air force chief, appeared to be bolstering his army support as he faces down the revolt.
Washington, a key ally of Egypt, called on Mubarak to do more to defuse the crisis but stopped short of saying he should quit.
But President Barack Obama also voiced support for "an orderly transition to a government that is responsive to the aspirations of the Egyptian people," in calls to regional leaders on Saturday, the White House said.
With fears of insecurity rising, thousands of convicts broke out of prisons across Egypt overnight after they overwhelmed guards or after prison personnel fled their posts.

First Look: Shazahn Padamsee has had a lip job done?
There had been buzz that Shazahn Padamsee has had a lip job done. Seeing is believing.
And all those who have had a preview of this week's release Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji in which she stars alongside Ajay Devgn, will attest that the newbie's honth look ekdum alag.
Looks like the job has been done in a hurry and badly -- as if a bee actually stung her lips. Wonder what made her resort to collagen injections. Lips don't lie, Shazahn.

Hrithik saves hearts
The actor sponsors heart surgeries for ten children as part of a paediatric programme
Hrithik Roshan has sponsored the surgical operations of 10 children of the Seven Hills Medical Foundation (SHMF)'s paediatric programme in the Mumbai suburb of Andheri.
Dr Bhujang Pai, Head of Radiology SHMF, says, "We have started a Save A Heart programme as a public initiative. We do lots of free open-heart surgeries.
We thought of getting someone who is very fond of kids and who kids are fond of as the face of our programme.
I know Hrithik and his family. We are family friends. I asked his parents if we could get him involved in this programme in any way."
Dr Pai continues, "Hrithik not only agreed to be the face of the SHMF scheme for children, but also donated R 15 lakh for the heart operation and post-operative care of 10 children who registered in the scheme."
Says the doc, "Lakhs of children are born in India with heart defects.
Because of lack of proper infrastructure and financial assistance, most die before their first birthday. Nearly eight in every thousand children are born with a congenital heart defect.
Through this scheme, poor parents won't have to run from pillar to post for their children's medical treatment. We want to reach out to people in a big way and so Hrithik's hoardings will be all over India."
The heart surgery of each baby costs a lakh and a half rupees and Hrithik donated the amount immediately so these operations could take place as soon as possible.
"We have a scheme where if someone pays R 1.5 lakh for the heart surgery of a baby he can adopt the baby. The baby will send him a card on his birthday as he's saved his/her life etc, " added the doc.

Says a source, "Pooja and her husband have separated and are filing for divorce in Los Angeles. She moved out of Sonu's home a few months ago."
Frequent trips
Over the last couple of years, Batra has been making frequent trips to India, giving rise to speculation that there was trouble brewing in the marriage.
She was spotted at film parties and B-Town events quite a bit last year. She had even arranged for Sylvester Stallone to work in Kambakkht Ishq.
According to the source, "Apparently, Sonu wanted children and Pooja didn't. She felt that it would affect her figure.
She wants a career in Hollywood and has been going for auditions but things aren't going her way. She has now rented a place in LA where she stays.
It's very sad that they may be splitting up. Sonu is a fantastic guy and is a famous doctor there. He tolerated all her nakhras, bought her a lovely home, a swanky car and was paying for her acting and make-up classes.
When they came down last year they seemed very happy together." Pooja could not be reached for comment.
Shaadi Ki Baat
Pooja and Sonu tied the knot on February 9, 2003 at a glittering wedding ceremony in New Delhi with people from the modelling fraternity in attendance. Pooja wore a red Azeem Khan outfit specially designed for the wedding. Pooja has acted in films like Virasaat and Haseena Maan Jayegi.

Berlin hosts Khan after Khan
Indian cinema fans in Europe are basking in the company of Khan after Khan and they can't believe their luck. First, it was Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan who spent three months in Berlin and now Aamir Khan arrives here early next month.
Aamir will be here as a member of the international jury of the 61st Berlinale that opens Feb 10.
"It's not that we are in the habit of collecting Khans. But we greatly admire the work of both Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and are totally excited that Aamir will be with us this year," Dorothee Wenner, Berlinale's special representative for Indian cinema, told.
Wenner says the festival has admired Aamir as a producer and actor for many years and has been trying to get him to participate in the Berlinale for a long time.
"Of course, it is not enough to want Aamir in our midst. It is about schedules and whether he is free from work to be part of the Berlinale. The logistics were always a problem. Aamir's work schedule did not allow him to be part of the Berlinale earlier. We are very happy that he is with us this year," Wenner said.
Festival director Dieter Kosslick saw Aamir's "Peepli Live" at the last Berlinale and liked the film so much that Wenner was asked to work overtime to make sure that Aamir participated in the event this year.
"I think it is great that such a versatile filmmaker is on the Berlinale jury. He knows every aspect of filmmaking, from acting, to directing and, of course, producing.
I hope he will stay in that last role in the coming years because it means we can look forward to more unusual and surprising Hindi films. Also, if you look at the way he promotes his projects, I would want him as a producer if I were to make a film," Gerlinde Seitner from the Austrian Film Institute told.
It is Wenner who first introduced Shah Rukh to audiences here and now she is very happy to host Aamir. Shah Rukh first participated in the Berlinale with "Om Shanti Om" in 2008. Berliners still recall how Shah Rukh had stopped traffic in the German capital with his charming ways. He was again at the Berlinale in 2010 for the world premiere of his last film "My Name Is Khan" and spent the last three months of the last year filming for Farhan Akhtar's "Don 2", which is partly shot in Berlin.
Berliners are thrilled that one Khan has barely left the city when Aamir will soon be with them.
The Bollywood participation at this year's Berlinale includes the world premiere of "7 Khoon Maaf". It has been selected for screening in the Panorama special section that picks cinema on the basis of innovative narrative styles and unusually critical images of society. Audiences will watch the film in the company of director Vishal Bharadwaj, producer Ronnie Srewvalla and leading lady Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka fans look forward to her return to Berlin after having feasted on her presence just a few months ago when she was in the city shooting for "Don 2".
Another Indian film is "Gandu" by Kaushik Mukherjee and Om Puri's "West is West" will also be screened.
Award winning Shekhar Kapur will bring no film to the festival but he will join a panel for discussions with production designer Alex Mcdowell and others on "Play as Process: World building and New Ways to Imagine".
Berlinale is one of the most prestigious film festivals and the international jury led this year by Italian actress Isabella Rossellini is the last word on which lucky film director gets to take home the Golden and Silver Bears at the end of the 11-day gala which concludes Feb 20.
The other members on the international jury along with Aamir are producer Jan Chapman, actress Nina Hoss, director Guy Maddin, costume designer Sandy Powell and Iranian director Jafar Panahi.

Chitrangada is tired of living in hotels & relatives' places
Chitrangada Singh now has her own pad in Mumbai.
Apparently, she's tired of flying to and from New Delhi, where she is based and of living out of suitcases in hotels and at relatives' places in Mumbai.
After looking for a home in the suburbs for months now, the star has settled for a place on the 28th floor of Oberoi Springs on Link Road, Andheri. Several B-Town folk including Imtiaz Ali reside there.
Singh is busy with the promotions of her forthcoming flick Yeh Saali Zindagi and so, is yet to move to her new place. "I plan to call my mother down soon to help me set up the place. Right now, it's just the bare walls.
Once I finish with the promotions of YSZ, I will devote time to doing up the house."
What she loves about her home is the panoramic view it offers. "The view is unrestricted and on a clear day, I can even see the (Bandra-Worli) Sea Link!"
It was important for her to find a place as she starts shooting for debutant Kapil Sharma's romantic comedy with John Abraham next month. Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz with Akshay Kumar follows.

Aamir Khan still gets butterflies
Aamir Khan, who is one of the illustrious 'perfectionist' actors of the Hindi film industry, has, over the years, displayed his skillful enactment of dissimilar characters such as that of a sincere policeman in the much-admired 'Sarfarosh' or of a sensitive educator in the adored 'Taare Zameen Par' or of an enthusiastic student in '3 Idiots', who points out the flaws in the Indian higher educational system.
His performances have been delivered so effortlessly that he has been the recipient of colossal acclaim from a vast number of Indians.
'Lagaan', which was nominated to be a part of the final five films for the 'Best Foreign Film' Award at the Oscars, was one in which Aamir had acted out the role of a determined Indian villager wonderfully, who motivates and leads an entire cricket squad of amateurs to victory against the imperious British Empire in a cricket match, which eliminates the burden of unjust taxation from the villagers' shoulders.
However, Aamir has recently voiced that he still finds it hard to penetrate the skin of the characters even subsequent to more than 20 years in Bollywood.
He has asserted that he has not yet bumped into a role that could have been enacted easily and that all his roles have been challenging. He has vocalized that it is taxing to infiltrate the psyche of another character since one has lived with one's traits since birth.
When an actor like him is compelled to become another person, it is essential to comprehend the person one is becoming and possess the capability to slip into that character. Therefore, it is not a piece of cake for him, notwithstanding any character that he is enacting.
Aamir Khan's recent movie, 'Dhobi Ghat', has been praised by numerous critics as a movie that would stimulate the intellectuals in the urban Indian audience. Aamir Khan has participated as the male protagonist in several successful Hindi films such as Raja Hindustani, Ishq, Ghajini, etc.
He has managed to stay at the top of the hierarchy of Hindi films consistently in the last 15 years, which is emblematic of the proficiency of his acting. His inclination towards perfectionism in acting has generated veneration for him among segments of the Indian entertainment media.

Ranbir is much better actor than Imran: Aamir Khan
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is one such actor, who has never maintained the diplomacy tag on him. He has never bothered to call a spade a spade. He has not been partial to anyone during his more than two decade long career in Bollywood.
The seasoned actor has yet again proved that he is a thorough professional and does not spare family and friends too. This time, it was turn of his doting nephew Bollywood actor Imran Khan.
In a recent interview with Zoom, Aamir was asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoor and Imran as the better actor. Aamir could not be diplomatic here too and said that he loves Imran but as an actor Ranbir is the better one.
Well, it may hurt Imran but he should not forget the big compliment he received from his 'mamu'. Aamir said that Imran is a 'lambi race ka ghoda', which is no doubt a big compliment for him.
Aamir might have given a hint to Imran that he needs to work harder if he really wants to stay in competition in the industry. So, this is a genuine concern of his uncle for his betterment so he should take the positive side of it.
On the other hand, we also cannot completely deny the fact that Ranbir has done much more versatile roles in these years compared to Imran so he deserves that compliment from Aamir.

Now considering the fact that martial arts is an extremely intricate form and is something which is an added advantage for any one irrespective of what profession one chooses to be in, it does not go without being noticed that Saif's kid is certainly heading in the right direction with his interest in this sporting activity.
Saif Ali Khan ,who is well known to be a great lover of rock and his penchant for playing the guitar will have yet another thing to be proud of- his son's excellence in the martial arts. Indeed there is so much to learn in life and if kids are given the right guidance and the right perspective then certainly any goal is easy to achieve.
Ibrahim, son of Saif Ali Khan and yester year actress Amrita Singh is certainly lucky as he has the genes of acting imbibed in him and with great grand parents like Tiger Pataudi and the mesmerizing Sharmila Tagore the young lad surely has a lot going for him.
However to win such accolades from a different field like martial arts is certainly quite something and young Ibrahim certainly deserves a pat in the back for it.

Croc shock: Akki almost got eaten by a crocodile
A stunt goes wrong. Akshay Kumar's quick thinking saves him
Akshay Kumar recently got into a scrape with alligators while shooting a cola ad in Malaysia. Says a source close to the actor, "Akshay loves all risky stunts from car chases to diving down waterfalls.
Of course, most of this he does for his films. So when the cola brand he endorses wanted to shoot the ad in Malaysia, Akki suggested that he fight crocodiles and go white water rafting.
The concept would be how Akshay fights crocs and dives down from his boat into the river to rescue his cola."
The unit, accompanied by the crocodile trainers, started shooting early one morning in the jungles of Gopeng Perak.
Khiladi Kumar was to go white water rafting, jump down from the raft into the river, dodge the crocs and swim to safety.
"When he jumped into the water the crocs were at a safe distance. However, something happened, and one of the reptiles lunged towards the actor."
All Akshay could see was its menacing jaw rushing towards him. "He froze for a split second. He has indulged in plenty of extreme-action stunts but fighting a crocodile is something he hasn't done in real life.
He turned around, grabbed the raft and quickly swung onto it and started rowing away as fast as he could till he reached a place of safety.
His presence of mind saved him. Fortunately, they got some great shots of the actor with the crocs and he didn't have to re-shoot."
According to the source, "AK has fought sharks while shooting for Blue. There too, he had an accident and got injured. But he loves thrills and the cola he endorses is all about thrilling action and excitement."
DID YOU KNOW?
Our source reveals, "Akki is waiting to complete 12 years with the cola company so he can set a record for being the longest-serving celebrity endorser."

Madhuri wants to open dance schools worldwide
Her career took a backseat after her wedding, but Bollywood's dancing dive Madhuri Dixit is seriously thinking about fulfilling her dream of opening a dance schools chain across the world.
"I don't have an immediate, ready plan to open my dance school, but I really want to do something like that and hopefully, god willing, I will do it, " Madhuri told.
"The plans are in my head right now. It will be multi-genre school where various dance forms will be taught. I am speaking as if everything is ready... but it is my dream. If I do it, it will be everywhere, " she added.
After shifting base to Denver following her wedding in 1999 to Shriram Nene, the 43-year-old kept in touch with her dance through practice sessions at home.
"I started practising my kathak there and that's something that gave me a lot of joy, " said the trained Kathak dancer.
Now the actress has two children - Arin, 7 and Ryan, 5, and she wants to wait for some more time to put her plans for the dance school in place.
"My children are really young right now. When I get some more time... I will focus on the dance school, " she said.
As of now, she is enjoying her stint on Sony TV's "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4" as a judge along with actress Malaika Arora Khan and choreographer Remo D'Souza, and maintains that she doesn't miss the glitzy cinema life when she is back home.
"I miss Mumbai for the energy of the city and because there are a lot of friends in the city. I miss my craft sometimes but I don't miss the other stuff that goes with Bollywood because I was never part of it.
"I have enjoyed every moment of my life - have never had any regrets. I am glad I took a break for my children because I wanted to be with them in their formative years, " said Madhuri.

I am back in shape to what I was: Zarine Khan
The Salman Khan discovery fends for herself. Zarine Khan has been offered lead role in director's debut
It has been almost a year since Veer released and Salman Khan's co-star Zarine Khan has been left fending for herself.
With the star lately recommending his Dabangg actress Sonakshi Sinha, the newbie is now starting afresh in B-Town.
After the release of the period drama last year, there was buzz that the Katrina Kaif lookalike was being considered for the Sallu starrer Kick to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. But now Shotgun's daughter will do the project.
Being extra careful
"Dabangg was the biggest hit of the year while Veer did not do well. So the scenario changes completely, " reasons Zarine who was spotted by Sallu on a film set and went on to be his heroine.
"Ultimately, it is the director's call. Before me, Deepika Padukone's name was also being mentioned for Kick."
She adds, "I did get offers after Veer, but I did not want to be in a tearing hurry. I wanted to be extremely cautious and select the right film, " she points out.
"I did not want to do just any film and regret it later. I am not a star kid or come from a film family. So I have to be extra careful as there will be no second chances for me."
Considering one role
Presently, Zarine has been offered debutant Guru Sharma's action film Cocaine. He is the cousin of musician Monty Sharma (Saawariya).
The action flick has the actress do some high-octane scenes. "I have liked the script and I am considering it." Since the past several months, she has been gymming it out to lose the flab she was asked to put on for Veer.
During the shoot, Sallu had put her on a chocolate diet to pile on the kilos. The actor had personally taken interest in her diet making sure she gorged on cakes and pastries, as her role required her to look fuller.
Back in shape
"I am back in shape to what I was, " says Zarine who had accompanied Salman to Aamir Khan's bash for the Academy Award-winning music composer Gustavo Santaolalla in June last year. "And yes I am looking at B-Town anew."

I did nothing immoral or kissed Ashmit in Big Boss: Veena Malik
Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who was an inmate in season four of Indian TV reality show "Big Boss", has said there was nothing immoral about her relationship with Bollywood actor Ashmit Patel or any other member of the house.
"All criticism of my action is baseless, because it is being hurled without knowing the facts," Veena said in an interview with the Express TV Friday night.
"I belong to the entertainment industry and have not done anything that I have not done before," she said.
The actress said she was not representing Pakistan on the show but only the entertainment industry.
"I know my limits. I did not wear any revealing clothes or kissed Ashmit or any co-star in the show," she said. "I was there to promote love and a spirit of friendship and have no regrets in doing so."
Responding to a question about her physical intimacy with Ashmit Patel during the show, Veena denied having any such contact.
"I was as close to Ashmit as any other inmate of the house," she said.
"I performed namaz in the Big Boss house and even Ashmit prayed with me," she revealed, and also produced a video to prove her point.
Meanwhile, Ashmit Patel, speaking on the phone from Mumbai during the interview, said that he had prayed because he found the movements in namaz "very much like yoga".
"I don't believe in religion as such but have respect for all religions and keep collecting information about them," he said, adding that he found peace in performing namaz.
An Islamic cleric, Mufti Abdul Baqi, who also participated in the interview, said: "Veena had shamed all Pakistanis and Muslims with her immoral acts during the show."
"I want to tell her that she has not done justice to her talents by doing something which she can't watch while sitting with her brother or son in future," he said, asking her to mend her ways.
Veena burst into tears during the interview and said she confronted hostility from other participants like Shweta and Manoj, but the media never supported her.
"It is to my credit that I spent 84 days in the house against all odds," she argued.
Interview host Kamran Shahid concluded the show by saying that most of the Pakistani people think Veena should not have committed such acts, particularly because of the high sensitivity towards the neighbouring country.
Veena Malik had earlier courted controversy because of her alleged relationship with embattled fast bowler Mohammad Asif.

Priyanka and Ranbir now competing over Bryan Adams
Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are literally competing with each other in order to get some space for themselves alongside the Canadian rocker Bryan Adams who is soon expected to come for his rocking journey to India.
Bryan Adams is scheduled to perform in Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Hyderabad respectively on the 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th of February respectively.
According to reports, Town stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are both expecting to get some publicity for their upcoming movies by getting to share some stage space with the rocking star.
Bryan Adams whose super hits like 'Summer of 69', 'Please Forgive Me' and '18 Till I Die' is very popular in India and to get to share stage with him would certainly add a lot of zing to both Ranbir Kapoor's and Priyanka Chopra's upcoming projects.
Ranbir Kapoor's film Rockstar will see him in the role of one too and thus to come for the promo of the movie with the international rocker would certainly add a great popularity to the film.
Priyanka Chopra whose film Saat Khoon Maaf releases on the 18th of February 'would also benefit a great deal if given the chance to go for the promo of her film on the same platform as the rocking Bryan Adams.
However, going by reports, nothing has been finalized on this front as of yet as everything would depend on the fact that whether the pop star is ready to go in for such stage sharing with the Bollywood stars or not. We wish both Ranbir and Priyanka all the luck.

Chitrangda's haidresser vanishes with her purse, mobile
Chitrangda Singh's had a bad time in Indore when her hairdresser disappeared with her bag and a cell phone.
Chitrangda was in a mall in Indore for the promotion of her new film "Yeh Saali Zindagi" when her hairdresser Amrita (who has worked with Aishwarya Rai in "Raavan" and "Robot") simply vanished.
"Amrita thought we had left the mall without her. So she took off for the airport in an auto. We didn't have her number. Since she had my bag with my phone we kept trying. We were frantically searching for her in the mall while she claims she had left for the airport, " said Chitrangda.
Last heard, Chitrangda was considering one of the two options. Change the hairdresser or be prepared to lose all her hair worrying for the hairdresser because apparently this is the second time the lady has taken off during a promotional tour without informing the actress of her whereabouts.
A member of the Indore team said: "We were in the mall for a couple of hours. Amrita was traceless. At first Chitrangda thought Amrita had gone to the rest room or something. But after the event when we all got into the car she still did not turn up. That's when Chitrangda panicked."
The hairdresser was carrying Chitrangda's bag with her cellphone.
"But it wasn't her bag that Chitrangda was worried about. It was the hairdresser. Her disappearance freaked Chitrangda out. Even after the event when we all got into the car late in the evening to reach the airport, the girl was nowhere to be found. We kept calling Amrita on Chitrangda's cell which was with Amrita. But there was no reply."
"Luckily our air tickets were with us, and not in Chitrangda's bag. So, the team could travel back to Mumbai. But Chitrangda refused to leave Indore until Amrita was found. Fortunately, Amrita showed up in an autorickshaw minutes before take-off, claiming she lost us in the mall. But we aren't convinced. We really don't know where Amrita disappeared to, " said the source.

Bigg Boss 4 winner Shweta assaulted, Raja absconding
Shweta Tiwari was flying in the seventh sky after winning ‘Bigg Boss 4’ but her happiness stayed for short duration. The popular television actress has once again become victim of domestic violence by her ex-husband Raja Chaudhary, who often hits headlines for his notorious acts.
Raja has again assaulted his ex-wife and her friend Abhinav Kohli. Shweta has filed her fourth complaint against Raja, who has entered her house forcefully and assaulted her.
The report suggests that on Tuesday, Raja barged in Shweta’s house at Shiv Shakti Society in Malad at around 1 am and started abusing her.
R Prabhu, senior inspector of Malad police station, was quoted saying that they have booked Raja for abusing, trespassing and assaulting. He said that now they will take strong action against him.
On the other hand, Shweta has demanded police protection as Raja did the same thing in last October when she was inside the Bigg Boss house.
Raja is now absconding following the incident and police is searching for him.
However, police is not going to allow him to enter the city if he is caught somewhere. Earlier, court ordered Raja to stay away from Shweta residence but he did not bother to obey that. Apart from assaulting his ex-wife, Raja was often associated with some notorious acts like abusing women in drunken condition and breaking rules.
We hope police takes a tough action against him this time, so that he never dares to repeat such acts in future.

If Salman is upset with me, it's my fault: Shah Rukh Khan
Is Bollywood's biggest cold war about to thaw? SRK's comments on buddy KJo's show certainly makes it seem so
Karan Johar broke down when best buddy Shah Rukh spoke about his former friends Farah Khan and Salman Khan. The episode airs this week (January 2).
Says a source from the Koffee sets, "SRK's episode with KJo is emotional where Shah Rukh has been caught in a mellow, introspective mood. He's emotionally vulnerable, revealing things that have hurt him in the last year."
The source adds, "When Karan pointed out that people feel that old friends Farah and Salman have a problem with Shah Rukh, SRK says, 'I don't know how to make friends and if I do, I don't know how to keep them....
If Salman and Farah are upset with me it's 100 per cent my fault but I can't pick up the phone and say sorry.... I can't apologise because of ego but because I can't just get myself to ask people to come back to me... I had asked my parents to come back and they didn't...'
"King Khan spoke highly of his former friends. "SRK spoke very honestly about Sallu and FK.
He admits that the biggest problem in his life is his cell phone as many of his friends accuse him of not taking or ignoring their calls and messages."
Karan was moved to tears when SRK said that he can't constantly tell people that he loves them. "He says, 'I feel it's understood that I love them if I have told them once... I can't keep repeating it...
I have a problem saying 'I love you' twice and thrice and keep repeating the words... Even in my films I can't keep saying 'I love you!' "
Says KJo, "It was a totally different cup of coffee this time. It's awkward to discuss and recreate such intimate scenes normally again.
I have never become emotional on Koffee With Karan because that's never been the tone of the show (it's usually spicy and controversial)."
About his buddy's appearance on the show KJo, "Shah Rukh is warm and heartfelt as he naturally is. He has spoken on all his relationships, family and friendships.
There's certain strength in what he had to say. He is beyond any kind of issues. You feel he has risen above every situation and comes through beautifully on the show.
This coffee on the couch episode with SRK was emotionally unplugged more than humor unplugged. It's a new impact!"

Tiff with Rani? No way: Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan is sporting a de-glam look for her new film No One Killed Jessica. The actor in conversation with Sreya Basu.
How far is No One Killed Jessica true to the real incident?
No One Killed Jessica is basically a dramatic thriller. It is based on a real-life case…all of us are aware of the Jessica Lall murder. That was the starting point for the film. But obviously there has been certain amount of fictionalization and dramatization. Never-the-less, we tried to retain the original incident to the maximum extent possible.
Which are the parts that have been dramatized?
Basically, we have shown the case from a very interesting and different perspective. So far, we have looked at the case from a crime perspective; we may not have seen it from a humane angle, or from the point of view of a girl who fought for so many years, or the media who worked together to make sure that justice was delivered in this case.
You are playing Jessica's sister (Sabrina Lall) in the film. So, did the film help you understand the case better?
Not because I am working in this film, but even before that, I was aware that whatever happened with Jessica Lall was pathetic and condemnable.
You are sporting a very serious and de-glam look…
Yes. Also, in this film, I speak very less, yet have to speak a lot through my silence. Raj Kumar (Gupta, director) tried to portray the strength of my character in a different way. So, it was very tough for me.
Were your mannerisms in the film similar to 'real' Sabrina?
I have not portrayed Sabrina Lall the way she is in reality. I didn't even meet her until very recently during a press conference in Delhi. The real Sabrina has already gone through it, so she is a much stronger person today. For me, I had to be more vulnerable.
There are reports that you had a cold war with Rani during shooting of the film. True?
Tiff with Rani? No way. Rani is my favourite actress and I love her.
You are mostly playing an Indian woman or a de-glam character. Do you miss doing masala films?
Thankfully for me, a lot of interesting films are happening these days, despite the fact that I only want to do roles that are challenging and excite me. I definitely think there are enough scripts to keep me as busy as I want to be. I am not the kind of person who wants to work 365 days a year. I want to do other things in life.
Being an actor, how much of it is looking like a star and how much of it is acting skills?
I think, in front of the camera, ultimately it's your skill as an actor. There was a time when people used to come to the theatres to watch beautiful people because cinema took you to a world of fantasy. It was aspirational. Today, it has changed.
People now go to a theatre to get entertained, not necessarily look for aspiration. But then, off-screen when you meet them, they expect you to be larger-than-life…glamorous…a star. However, I must say, stars today don't have that magic anymore. We have lost our exclusivity…we are all over the place now.
Are you single?
It's difficult for actors to have relationships because of a time crunch. I don't get time to socialize and am not meeting that many men. And if I am not meeting that many men, how can I find the most interesting one among them?

Yes, I'm Dating Aanchal Kumar: Rahul Bhatt
When it comes to forthrightness Rahul Bhatt is surely a chip off the old Mahesh Bhatt block. But that's where the father-son part ways. While papa Mahesh lets it all hang out, Rahul likes to keep his private life close to his chest. Private to the point of being a recluse the reticent Bhatt has found love. True love, he hopes.
Model Aanchal Kumar whom Rahul met during Bigg Boss is now the love of Rahul's life.
Reluctantly, the reticent Rahul admits he has been dating her for a month now.
Sparks, as the nation saw, had begun to fly on Bigg Boss where Aanchal and Rahul were constantly in one another's company. Not too much could be read in this televised togetherness since such jodis are often doctored for the camera.
Reluctant and loath to make new friends Rahul tried to put Aanchal out of his mind after his eviction from Bigg Boss. But somehow she stayed. Now the two are very much a pair.
Says Rahul, “Yes Aanchal and I are seeing each other. We've been dating for a month now. It takes me a long time to open up with people. I've very few friends and after what I've gone through (the Headley episode) I'm even more wary of new contacts.”
Rahul hit it off with Aanchal from Day 1 on Bigg Boss. “She is honest and trustworthy. A lovely person. I'm looking at a long- term relationship.”
Aanchal was in Goa for the New Years, sans Rahul.
How come?
Says Rahul shyly, “This year I was with my close group of friends in Pune. But next year, I promise I'll be in Goa with Aanchal. Like I said, I'm looking at a long-term relationship with her.”
When contacted Aanchal was more diplomatic about her declarations of affection for Rahul.
“Rahul is a good friend I met in the Bigg Boss house. The show helped me in terms of the recognition with the masses. People got to know me. The best thing about being on Bigg Boss was the respect I won for my conduct on the show. I walked out with my head held high.”

Lack of Beauty Sleep Makes You Ugly!
To look your best for parties and celebrations you don't need expensive salon treatments or creams, you just need a good night's sleep! You will look healthier, have brighter sparkling eyes and you will also look prettier! If you get sufficient rest, a new study suggests, that you literally become more beautiful!
Beauty Sleep: Solid Science
Beauty sleep is no longer an old woman's superstition but is now a solid fact supported by science. A group of Swedish scientists studied 23 volunteers all of whom were between 18 and 31 years of age and were healthy.
These volunteers were all photographed twice: once after they had had sufficient rest and sleep for eight hours, and then once when they had been sleep deprived. On the second occasion, they were kept awake for 31 hours after they had slept for only 5 hours.
Nobody wore make-up and all of them were allowed exactly the same grooming, for example, shaving. They were then asked to keep neutral expressions on their faces and look relaxed while they were being photographed.
These photographs were then shown to sixty-five people. These people had not been trained for the exercise and were told to give their subjective opinions about the photographs. All the photos were rated according to factors like attractiveness, healthy appearance and tiredness. The participants were asked to rate the images according to their own perceptions only i.e. there was no right or wrong answer.
On an average, the sleep deprived pictures were rated low on all three counts, that is people found them to be less attractive, less healthy and more tired-looking in comparison to their rested faces.
This means that if you don't feel rested and refreshed it is going to show on your face. People are going to make decisions about you, on how healthy or how attractive you look based on how rested you feel. If you have had a good night's sleep, that was undisturbed, then your body feels fresh and rested. This means you look better, more attractive and healthier.
If you feel more tired then you also look more tired, and as a result people don't find you as attractive as before. The researchers concluded this is because people are subconsciously sensitive to facial cues that are based on the amount of sleep or rest you have had.
"Generally, human judgment involves complex processes, whereby ingrained, often less consciously deliberated responses from perceptual cues are mixed with semantic calculations to affect decision making... Thus, all social interactions, including diagnosis in clinical practice, are influenced by reflexive as well as reflective processes in human cognition and communication," the author of the study, John Axelsson, PhD, wrote, "This study shows that sleep is important for facial features and hence makes up the first scientific evidence of the phenomena of 'beauty sleep'."
